Oatmeal Chewies

1 c. butter 2 c. brown sugar

2 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla

2 1/2 c. flour 1 tsp. soda

1 tsp. salt 1 1/2 c. oats

Filling:

15 oz. sweetened condensed milk

12 oz. chocolate chips

2 Tbsp. butter

1/2 tsp. salt

2 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter and brown sugar together. Add eggs and vanilla. Sift flour, soda and salt. Stir in oats. Add to butter and sugar.

Over low heat melt remaining ingredients together. Grease 9x 13 inch pan. Put 2/3 oatmeal batter in pan and spread. Cover with chocolate mixture. Dot remaining dough on top. Bake at 350º for 25 to 30 minutes. Let cool before serving. Cut into squares.
